To ensure a smooth and productive virtual voice coaching session via Zoom,
here are some tips for students:

Tech Setup

Ensure you have a stable internet connection
Use a device with a working camera and microphone
Have a secondary device for playing music/YouTube
Familiarize yourself with Zoom's interface and features, particularly the audio settings.

Camera Placement

Position your camera at eye level to provide a clear view of your face and upper body
Make sure your face is well-lit, so the coach can see your facial expressions and lip movements

Microphone Use

Use headphones with a built-in microphone may provide better audio quality and reduced background noise
Mute your microphone when you're not speaking to minimize disruptions
Turn OFF noise removal and toggle on "Original Sound For Musicians"

Secondary Device for Music

Have a seperate device handy (smartphone, ipad, computer) from which you can play music and/or access Youtube tracks

A STABLE INTERNET CONNECTION is vital to the success of an online session. A weak signal may result in delayed or unclear video/audio. Be prepared to spend the first few minutes of your very first online lesson troubleshooting and experimenting with audio settings to find what works best.
